i was induced 6 days late with DS, and was 6 days early with DD, but she was a scheduled c-section, so that doesn't really count.

my mom had 3...i was first, and 4 weeks early. her next 2 were late(one a few days, one a week)

@TurtleDoves: yay thanks for the encouragement! it's good to know the induction should go smoothly if i make it to tomorrow :)

@PurplePeony: thanks for sharing that story!

@Rubies: seriously! i keep expecting LO#2 to be just like LO#1 in habits, presonality, etc... but i guess i won't know till he comes. excited for your little one soon!

@Lozza: hehehe i should try some of those things too! seems like the overwhelming trend though is that #2's come sooner, so hopefully it does for you:)

@Ginger333: wow! a late #3 after a due date #2 would surprise me too! :) i feel like i don't quite know what to do with myself the last few weeks -- i've been ready for so long! haha.. i'm not exactly complaining though, cause physically i feel ok and i still VERY clearly remember the early weeks of sleep deprivedness and bf'ing pain from #1.... haha..

@Adira: thanks for sharing!! :)

@littlek: i hope you'll be able to go closer to term for #2! :)

@boots: hehe... a month ago i'd reply, 'nah!' but now.. who knows! :D i will say that i'm way more patient this time around than last time -- i'm excited to meet baby in person but enjoying the extra rest and peace :)

Ooh this is interesting! Dh and I haven't decided if we will have a 2nd or not yet, but I went into labor at 38+5 with my daughter. I've often wondered if I would end up like a week overdue with a 2nd haha

@tysonja: I only went 34 weeks with LO and I'm **hoping to go at least 37 weeks with pregnancy #2. My case is very different than yours though.

My mom had her first (my brother) a week early, and then had her second (me) a day late! So not as bad as you, but she was still surprised!

I went late (9 days) with my first - on my "due date" with my second and late (11 days) with my third.
Was really surprised to go late with my last one, thought for sure he'd be one time or at least close! I tried everything to get him moving too ... RRL tea from 34 weeks, Evening Primrose, lots of walking - he came when he was good and ready, no induction but lots of waiting.

Ahhh, don't tell me this! DS came 10 days early, and the idea of going late with this one makes me want to cry!
I'm going to go eat some pineapple and dates and drink some raspberry leaf tea while walking laps around my office with primrose oil up my hoohah.

I think pregnancy and babies are so unpredictable! My friend just had her #2 and both her babies were over a week late!

Not me, but a friend of mine had her first prematurely at 35 weeks but went right up to her induction date with her second (she was in labor when she arrived so they ended up not having to do much in the way of interventions). I think they had her on something to prevent early labor until she reached 37 weeks but it might have worked too well because the baby was NOT budging for like a month after that!

Wow! I am just as surprised as you are! FWIW, you'll probably be a very favorable candidate for a successful induction because you had your first child not too long ago.
I know @runsyellowlites: went late with her 2nd child.

i was reading up on other threads where we talked about the differences in length of labour between subsequent pregnancies, and also when the labour began and was wondering:

did anyone go into labour/give birth before their edd for their first LO, and then go way late or even induced for their second or subsequent LO's?? i had LO#1 16 months ago and he came at 39 weeks. I am currently 41+2 weeks with LO#2 and will be induced in 2 days if nothing happens!

I'm just so surprised because i expected this LO to come around 39 weeks like his brother, or even earlier :). Certainly didn't think i'd end up getting induced! plus it was less than a year and half since i last gave birth.... hmm... oh well! whatever happens happens! :)
