It's a smaller footprint (though it sticks out from the wall a little more, width was more of a concern for us). Two guests slept on it and said they were comfy enough for a temporary stay. I liked that it was easy to set up and the didn't have pillows and cushions to store when the bed was extended. As a sofa it was fine. I added decorative pillows. For a long time I had it as my main couch and HATED IT because it was not the most comfortable, but when I transitioned it into the guest room, was really glad for it. And if you're not on it constantly, it wasn't that uncomfortable.
