I have completed a certificate program online. I think the key is to find a legitimate university (look into state schools, for a start) and then review their online programs. Many schools offer business degrees online these days.

@mrsjazz: I have a low-res MFA in Creative Writing, too! Yahoo!

I have a degree from Antioch University in Los Angeles, it's not completely online, but low-residency (I had to go to LA twice a year for 2 weeks at a time). Mine is different because it's for creative writing (which is mostly a solitary undertaking) but it's a brick and mortar place that also offers online degrees. I would go the brick and mortar route, not with a program at an organization that's completely online.

I have a degree from North Carolina State University and the program was 100% online

@Anagram: @sunny: I second this! I'm getting my Master's online through a state university and it is exactly the same classes/expectations/professors as the brick and mortar degree. There are lots of online options these days, especially in the community college arena.

I go to Kaplan online. I think as long as the school is properly accredited I don't see any problem with online degrees.

I would do what @Anagram: suggested and find one that is attached to a respected brick and mortar university.

Sort of. I already had a BA, but them I did a non-degree NYU online program. They have a school of continuing professional studies with all sorts of programs that can complement/boost your initial education.

@ValentineMommy: I think some state universities are doing online programs now, and I'd go with that. Since they are "real" brick-and-mortar universities and are already respected, it seems like the safest bet.

DH is looking to finish up his degree. He has an associates, but wants to finish his bachelors online. The cheapest and fastest possible...while still getting a decent education. He doesn't have a particular degree he's interested in (just a general business or something).

Any recommendations? I have no idea how to tell a good one from a crappy one.
