I know the steps will probably include 1) filing for social security benefits, 2) filing for SSI, and 3) applying for subsidized federal or state senior housing. </p> <p>She turns 62 this November, and she's currently working (but has not earned money most of her life) and will quit her job to move closer to us and apply for senior housing here, in a different state than where she's lived and worked until now. She also may continue working part time after starting to receive social security.</p> <p>Any thoughts? I've been researching online for the past 2 hours and I'm totally lost and confused. </p>
