He got casts at ~4 wks and they were changed out every couple of weeks for the first few months. After that, they gave him a brace. Over time, he's able to spend less time in it. Now he just sleeps in it at night. It's amazing how little it impacts him now. He crawls with his brace on and pulls up without any issues. He just turned one, and is on track with all of his milestones so far. They don't expect any long term complications either. It definitely adds some complexity to an already difficult period, but generally I think the outcomes are pretty good. She was in a brace for the first 12 weeks that helped straighten them out. He had a pin placed shortly after birth to help correct it. </p> <p>My mom still talks about the worst part being having to travel to the doctor (the specialist was about an hour away) to have the foot re-casted every other week. Because babies grow SO fast they have to constantly adjust the cast. They knew about it in utero so they were able to plan for it. I know that he had surgery pretty soon after he was born to start correcting and was in a cast for awhile. That being said, he's 4 now and has no last effects.
