@travellingbee: I had this too starting at 7-8DPO and always got my period by 10 DPO. I haven't had to get it checked out because I've fallen pregnant easily even with the short LP and early spotting. Good luck to you!

@tillma: @MrsMccarthy: thanks so much! I'm kind of assuming it's a hormonal thing but the doctor isn't super receptive to that idea. I guess we'll see after the ultrasound. I'm going to try going to a nutritionist that my friend recommended...

I had such spotting but it seems like in my ADR it may have been caused by hormonal imbalances from nursing. Vitamin B6 seemed to help and some also use vitex. If its not an issue with progesterone it can also be cause by a myriad of things. In my sisters case she has sporting from uterine fibroids. Some people see such spotting with endometriosis as well. I think it's great that your doctor is being so proactive. I hope that its resolved soon or better yet that you fall pregnant. Good luck!

I had this. I remember it starting around the time we got married and had been going on for two years by the time we conceived. It took us a year to get pregnant and then we miscarried. We went on to get pregnant two months later and now have a ten month old.
When we were TTC I went to the doc almost right away because I was concerned about the spotting. They thought I had PCOS despite the fact that I didn't have the symptoms. I didn't agree but I was desperate so I took the meds. They did nothing but make me sick and after about six months I stopped. I had begun temping and charting because I was convinced I was ovulating and wanted to prove that to the docs. My charts looked great so we were unclear what the problem was. 12 cycles in we got pregnant then and lost the baby at seven weeks. I was devastated and wanted a doctor to explain why. The doctor I saw diagnosed me with cervicitis and put me on a ten day drug regiment to clear it up. In total we took one month off for my cycle to regulate and one month off to be treated. I was emotional and not sure if I wanted to try again but we ended up having unprotected sex one time and got pregnant. It was a huge shock! I spotted off and on into my second tri but all was fine. Since giving birth I haven't been spotting but I have also been breastfeeding. Hard to say if that doc was right or not especially since I have had docs since tell me they disagree with her. Sorry that is a lot of info but I just wanted you to know it can happen! I tried to find info on it too when I was going through it and couldn't.
BTW way for additional info I ended up with a CS and doc checked my uterus carefully, there were no growths or polyps that could have been causing my problems. They never figured out what was causing it

@travellingbee: In the months leading up to TTC I had spotting starting around 9-10 dpo. We were using condoms but I was temping and tracking my cycles. I ended up getting pregnant fairly quickly, so it didn't negatively affect anything, but I was worried it would. Were you recently on hormonal BC? I was on the pill for 7 years before going off it to TTC, so I am thinking that could've been a factor in the spotting, but I'm not sure.

We are TTC and I've been having some cycle issues. My cycles have always tended to be on the shortish end (26 days or so), but the last couple of cycles I've also started spotting around eight DPO, with cramps. I do remember having this happen before a few times when I was younger, but I wasn't TTC so it wasn't an issue. I was worried it was a progesterone issue, but my doctor tells me he does not think that is the issue. He's sending me to have an ultrasound done. I'm not sure what he's looking for.... Have any of you had something similar? Did you find out what it was? And were you able to get pregnant?
