@pmrlady: Sending you lots of good vibes for a darkening line... congratulations!

I have both ovaries, but only one functioning tube, so I wanted to chime in... my issues stem from endometriosis, but I have gotten pregnant twice on my "good side." Sending you sticky thoughts!!

@pmrlady: i have 1 ovary (my other was removed for reasons similar to yours--by any chance was yours a low malignancy potential mucinous cyst?) and had a BFP and how have a 15 month old. crossing fingers on the faint second line!

OMG guys thank you so much for your replies, you've given my so much hope that it will happen.

I had another FRER and I decided to test again today at 10dpo...I was thinking that even if it's negative I would not get upset because it's obviously not that uncommon and it seems like a lot of people with one ovary got pregnant from all your responses...

BUT there was a faint second line! It was light but definitely there and my DH confirmed it so I know I'm not imagining it! We are cautiously optimistic because it's still early but at least I know my ovary is working =)

Thank you all so much!

Yes!! One of my best friends has one ovary (due to ovarian cancer when we were in college, they had to remove one) and she has two children. She actually got pregnant pretty fast too and she thought it may never happen!

Both of her pregnancies were in her 30's.

Good luck!

My sister had her left ovary and tube removed at 15 due to a cyst the size of a grapefruit (!) that was growing on it, and she has gotten first month lucky twice and has two beautiful girls.
Her ObGyn told her that when one ovary is removed, after about 6 months the other one starts producing an egg every month rather than every other month, so most of the time fertility isn't affected (unless you try to conceive immediately after the ovary is removed, when I guess it would be cut in half for approx 6 months? That is just a guess on my part).

I have a friend with just one ovary. It took about a year to conceive her 1st (and I'm not sure how actively they were trying) and 3 months to conceive her 2nd!

My cousin only has one ovary and she also had weird cycles so when her OB told her that she might not have kids, she was devastated. She was 23 years old at the time. Her sister even offered to be her surrogate if it came to that point. She got pregnant within a year after she was married and now has 3 happy, healthy, and beautiful kids!

@pmrlady: I have 1.25, had 2 cp's before successfully conceiving my son through IUI. I know a woman with endometriosis who had 1/4 of one ovary and one tube and conceived. Good luck!

My mom! She had to have it removed when she was pregnant with me, and had my little sister 3 years later. Her doc told her the remaining ovary would just take over full time.

I am a single ovary BFP! My mom had her left ovary removed after a ruptured ovarian cyst when she was 17, and she had me when she was 35. Only took 2 months trying after BC to concieve me. I am a right ovary baby. Hang in there, you have no need to worry. FX for a quick BFP of your own! :goodluck:

Hello ladies,

I am on my 3rd cycle TTC (1st cycle charting) and got a BFN on a FRER today at 9DPO. I know I'm not out yet but I started feeling down in the dumps, especially because I've had a bad cold these past few days and I don't feel any other symptoms other than that.

I am 28 yrs old but I only have one ovary and tube (the other side was removed 2 yrs ago for a borderline tumor). I have been on BC pills since that surgery and stopped them in January. I am really anxious to get pregnant quickly because I feel like I might get more cysts on the other ovary the longer I am off BC pills.
Just looking for some inspirational stories....

Does anyone here have or knows anyone who has only one ovary and went on to have a BFP?

Thanks in advance =)
