Got anyone that might stumble across this in the future: she went for an ultrasound today and there was nothing there, so she's stopped her meds.

She had another draw and her number has doubled again. She is hoping to talk to the doc today and set up an ultrasound for later this week

It doesn't sound promising. Did she transfer two embryos? Maybe it's a vanishing twin.

Not sure if this is exactly the same but with my first Ivf I had a second draw that slightly more than doubled in 48 hours and then my next draw was 92 hours later and it had not doubled (so extra bad because it should have quadrupled). I prepared for the worst but then my draw 48 hours after that doubled again. I now have a very healthy and active 3.5 year old!! Hope it is the same for your friend!!

This kind of reminded me of the miscarriage story just posted recently (with an ectopic story of you are searching for it) - I think it can happen when an embryo is not viable but it may take a while to end. Of course everyone and every situation is different!

Not for me, asking for my best friend.
She did ivf, and her first beta draw was around 75. Her next draw was almost double 48 hours later, but not quite, but her doctor was happy with it. I can't remember exactly, but we'll say 145. Her next draw was a week later and only went up around 50, lets call it 200 total. She was prepared to miscarry, but now, 48 hours later her numbers doubled again.
She's not hopeful at all, but does anyone have any positive outcomes from a situation like this? Or know why it could be happening?
