I picked the longest waiting period (6 months, I think) and I pay about $40 a month for it. His kicks in after 6 months of disability and goes until he's 55, but it might be 60 now - he's been talking to our guy to renew this year. When he first got it 5 years ago at 30, it was cheap, like $500 a year, but we have accepted the insurance company's offer to increase the monthly payment for slightly higher rates so I think at this point we pay around $1,000. We make our agent shop it around every year so it changes all the time. I don't remember the exact premium, but it's not cheap! Oh well).</p> <p>Anyway, wondering if anyone could share advice! How long does your policy last, what is the annual premium, et cetera? If it helps, I am a non-smoker with no major health issues but high cholesterol. I am trying to compare policies and kind of confused...the fine print is annoying!! </p>
