Love them. Have used them for the entire year and half. I bought a
whole lot of them used off my local mom board and craigslist. I never tried to replace the liner, I would jsut use a new one. Letting the liners dry in the sun took care of any stains. My only word of caution, I don't think the tiny size are worth it. I think you will get so much more use from small and medium. The tiny's might only last a week. Can you buy the tiny's or smalls used to see if you like them first? I also think they work somewhat better with a chunky baby.

Gdiapers leaked every time I put them on LO. I couldn't get them to work for us. For the newborn times, I used prefolds and covers, Tots Bots, and Blueberry Simplex. Now I use GroVia hybrids and Softbums Echo. With both of those you can actually reuse the cover and just snap in a new insert. I love both brands and I'm actually selling off the rest of my stash to buy more of those.

I didn't like them. I tried them at 2-3mo, with size S. The plastic liner always got dirty, and if it was a poo, then it would stain. Having to always change out the liner was a pain. I switched to regular CDs and disposables.

@bluestriped bee: I loved them. We used them with the flushable inserts and used them nearly exclusively. I also blogged about them, I can wall you the post if you are interested.

@bluestriped bee: like @looch said, you need the liner to snap into the cloth outer gpants and the cloth or disposable sits inside the liner. I used cloth and flushables in the beginning but after awhile I started using flushables exclusively...I love them!

I didn't have the problem of the outer pant getting damp/wet unless it was a super heavy diaper (overnight diaper). So I just threw the damp gpant in the wash and the other ones go in every few days. I love that the gpant can just be thrown in the wash with the regular wash and dries super easy. I have the liners in a mesh laundry bag and throw them in with a regular wash and air dry them.

I hated them. The way that they overlap and close on the side gave my little one sores! And I know of a few other people who had the same issue, it just depends how your kid is shaped.

You need the liner. The set I bought had 6 pants and 6 liners.

http://www.gdiapers.com/shop/little-gpants-diaper-covers/great-orange-little-gpants

I bought my 6 pack at diapers.com when they had a promo of an additional 20% off all g diapers.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with AIOs, though, in all honesty. The main selling point of G diapers is that you can reuse the cover, just change out the liner, but i found when using the cloth liners, even with the plastic liner, the outer pants always felt damp. So I ended up using the pants a single time.

@T.H.O.U.: I have one small gDiaper already. Just the pants and no inserts. They really are just pants. I was a little surprised when it came. Just wondering if I should get one or two more to give me a good chance to try them completely.

@sandy: Thanks! From what I read, the newborn gDiapers only use disposable inserts. The cloth inserts only fit sizes small and up. Maybe that's to help with the meconium issue?

Oh the newborn size fits 6-10 lb babies and the small is for 8-14 lbs.

The other thing I read was gDiapers are not waterproof. You have to buy pouches that make the shells waterproof?

I would look at TRU or another cloth store to see them in person before you buy them.

I was really surprised when I saw them in person and was kinda turned off.

I liked them, I'll be honest, I didn't see what the learning curve was with them, they're a decent system.

We have used them on two kids and they've been fine but I don't have much to compare to! Like @sandy we didn't use the newborn ones -- the smalls fit within a couple of weeks. We have 6 small, 6 med and 6 large. It's been a little tight at times but we have made it work!

I LOVE gdiapers!!! My LO is almost 24 months and we are just thinking about potty training and my gdiapers have held up really well.

I never used the newborn ones...we used disposables for the first few weeks bc i was afraid I would have too much going on to worry about getting the hang of it while dealing with all the other newborn stuff. I'm not sure what the sizing is but my LO was 8lbs 8oz at birth and we went straight to the size small at a few weeks. She was in size small i *think* until 6 months and then we moved up to mediums...and she has been in mediums ever since then! So if I was to redo my stash I would invest heavily in size medium and not buy as many size small.

For my next child I think I'll do disposable for the first few days until the meconium has all passed and until the cord stump falls off and just go straight into the size small gdiapers.

Just my thoughts :)

@looch: yeah, that's what I heard. I don't have any LOs yet so this is all pre-baby. I got prefolds but now I'm wondering if I should get some just in case me or the DH does not like prefolds.

Just read this review comparing flips and gDiapers. http://www.babycheapskate.com/2010/01/17/reader-review-flip-vs-gdiapers/

Sounds like Flips have a slight advantage.

People either love them or hate them. I think it kind of depends on what kind of diaper system you are used to...if you use an AIO, you will probably not like these because they have three pieces, the cover, a snap in liner and then then the actual cloth liner or disposable liner.

They are on zulily right now and it sounds like a good deal. The reviews on Amazon look good for the newborn/small bundle pack. It's $137 for a bundle that comes with 12 newborn shells and 6 small shells, plus some disposable inserts.

It's currently $118 on Zulily.

I have a few newborn and infant prefolds with covers that I plan to use. Just not sure if I should get these. My collection does include a few flips and BG 4.0 and Freetimes. I want to get a variety of different diapers for the newborn and infant phase.
