@MrsBucky: Ha! I always say plan for the worst and expect the best. :) This time around, I'm also planning on going late again so that I won't be so disappointed. But I'm sure you'll be ready when the time comes!!!!

@MUI831: Fair point. I am 39+2 today, and I keep telling people I fully expect to go late- I think everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I'd rather be prepared for that than feel like every day from now until when I give birth lasts a year because I expected to go into labor early or on time! Although now I wonder if I'm ready to go into labor mentally--- like have a psyched myself up so much to go late that I won't feel ready if I go into labor tonight? Hah!

@MrsBucky: To be fair, I was still induced. But at the rate that the nurse told me I was having contractions at 37 weeks, she said there was no way I would make it to my due date. Note to all nurses out there. . . NEVER tell a pregnant woman this. It made going past my due date all the more difficult.

You might also be having them and not really feeling them. Some people don't. Perhaps because you are in such great shape??! I had a ton early with this second pregnancy but barely any with my son. Good luck! I hope she comes a bit early so you get more time with your husband!

Never had any with DD1, and went into labor on my due date. Labored mildly at home from about 8am-6pm and then hospital... had her at 7:28am the next day. None yet with DD2 either but I'm only 17 weeks.

@lawbee11: My OB said she will start sweeping my membranes at 36/37 weeks in order to speed things along...I'll be going weekly at that point so I guess we'll just do it until induction if it doesn't work? It's not that big of a deal if I go to induction, but it will just mean that my husband gets more time with her. But it will all be fine either way:) I hope I'm lucky enough to respond like you did to a membrane sweep!

@PrincessBaby: My OB swept my membranes at my 38w appt and I went into labor that evening. I was already dilated 2cm and had lost my mucus plug so it could've just been a coincidence, but can't hurt to try!

@PurplePeony: You are what I call the Pregnancy Unicorn. The mythical creature that goes into labor during the 37th week, when baby is full term and lungs are good, and you just magically got a few weeks of the misery of pregnancy shaved off, haha. I drive a lot for work, and this is my fantasy while I'm driving:) I want to be a Pregnancy Unicorn!!!

@lawbee11: @MUI831: @birdofafeather: these stories make me feel less crazy! I haven't been sure whether I was having them or not- I never really notice them, but sometimes notice my whole belly is super hard, so I thought maybe that was a BH? I'm 39+1 today, so I'm glad to hear stories of people not being aware of them and going into labor eventually!

I have never felt BH or real contractions and I've been pregnant twice. DS1 came at 39 weeks - scheduled c section and DS2 came at 37 1/2 weeks - rcs bumped up because of low fluid. I never showed any signs of imminent labor either time. I think my body would probably not go into labor on its own.
