Her birthday party alone was super expensive (to us) so I thought that was special enough, I mean she is only 3. And we probably won't get her a Christmas present now as we saved some gifts for her to open for Christmas. The first day is cleaning out the playroom to make room for new stuff. She's so young that she gets easily overwhelmed opening gifts from relatives already. </p> <p>So yeah, we get her some smaller things but no big gifts from us usually. When she is more aware I'm sure that will evolve. </p> <p>However, every time I try to remind her who gave her something she just says "mommy and daddy got it for me!" Well we did but then DH was out of town so we waited till he was home. Then forgot. It was all little things so we just gave them to her over the next couple months. Now that she is older she gets it, so we will always do gifts. This bday, we are planning on a big girl room, but we will at least wrap up a couple things for her for open. Christmas will always have gifts. And we're pretty clueless about what to get them for Christmas.</p> <p>We get them things pretty freely throughout the year, so when birthdays/Christmas time rolls around; we haven't done any big gifts! </p> <p>DS1 just had his third bday and all his gifts were from friends/family. But we did take him to TRU on his birthday and he picked out a $25 truck ramp toy we bought him. </p> <p>And with Christmas right around the corner, we're still clueless about what to get him! He has everything under the sun. And we're sure he's going to be getting even more gifts from friends/fam. So I think we may just keep the trend going and skip gifts! Maybe books and underwear and socks, because you can always have more of that stuff! :P </p>
