I can barely keep up with LO's daytime feeds, so nothing is frozen. During maternity leave I had a small freezer stash until I realized I had thrush, and it all had to be tossed. By the time the thrush was gone I had to go back to work.

@travelgirl1: maybe yours are different than mine. The ones I have do have holes in them. I didn't realize they make them without holes.

i froze a bunch in the beginning, so that I could build up a stash for nights out (ha! we went out twice!), emergencies, and so we could give DS a bottle once a week to get him ready for my return to work.

Now that I'm working I only use fresh milk from the day before. I read that it messes with your supply to use freezer bags too often, so I only send small frozen portions to day care for emergencies. For example, one day they accidentally spilled his bottle, so they needed that frozen milk to make up for it!

I hate pumping, so I tend not to pump enough to freeze these days. :)

I never froze any. With my twins there was never enough to freeze the drank everything I had. With my daughter I was too lazy to pump I just never was away from her.

@ChelseaRose: I thought it said you can use it as long as it's collected in the shell without the holes and not been in it more than 6 hours? I'll double check though!

I was freezing milk the first few months, because I had this fear that I would dry up...but now LO is almost 5 months and I haven't froze milk in a good 6 weeks.

@travelgirl1: I have nipple shells too and I'm pretty sure the instructions said not to use the milk collected in them.

I do freeze milk, but I'm going back to work when LO is 4.5 months old and I want to have the extra to make sure I can keep up with his needs.

I don't freeze much (bottle strike and I'm not planning on working for a while) but I freeze what collects in my Avent nipple shells overnight and sometimes pump too. I figure I'll mix it in with solids at some point or make smoothies for her.... Breast milk smoothies,I hope they're not as gross as they sound!

I wasn't planning on freezing milk. Just wanted to give my DS fresh pumped milk and wanted to nurse him.
I'm pumping a lot more than I expected so I guess it's time to start freezing some!
