Good to know... I'm worried that if my MIL watches our (future) LO, she will stuff him/her with snacks.

That's what currently happens with our 4 year old nephew who is 15 lbs overweight, and yet they keep giving him Chinese hot dog buns, cookies, and sugar cane juice boxes (I try not to look judgey, but I can't help it!!)

I did not give snacks at that age. I didn't give them until we night weaned at 13 months and she started eating a lot more. And even then it's often just one a day. Maybe two some days.

I give my LO snacks...mostly fruit, cheese, veggies and the occasional crackers, cheerios or puffs.

Same as @mrs. wagon, DD is happiest if she eats every few hours or else she gets cranky.

LO is 8 months, we just ramped up to 3 meals a day, and usually after her second nap before bed I'll give her a 'snack' of some sort. Maybe a teething cookie (homemade, no sugar) or a hunk of fruit. She can't have dairy so I'm struggling finding good snacks that aren't carbs all the time.

We always have to have a morning snack and afternoon snack or WJ gets cranky. Usually one snack a day is fruit (apples, grapes, banana, etc) and one is a munchy or an applesauce pouch.

Just curious. LO is only 9 mos and we started 3 meals just two weeks ago and I was wondering about snacks. When did you start, when LO seemed into/wanting them. I'm hoping to only give snacks like fruit/veggies/cheese/yogurt because I know my own habit of snacking on things like crackers and cereal and don't want baby to develop a taste for crackers and other similar munches. Thanks! Feeding is still so daunting to me I love hearing how others create their own rhythm.
