My Mom said she didn't get any from pregnancy, and I am a pretty lazy lotioner. Well I think I got my skin genetics from my Dad's side, cuz I got tons of them! They bother me a little bit, but they continue to fade and I wasn't planning on walking around with my belly hanging out anyways.

i didn't even bother, for either pregnancy. i didn't get any with #1(thankfully) and so far at 25 weeks, nothing with #2. i think it's more genetics.

I hate the feeling of my skin tightening and itching... My mom sent me a care package including Almond Supple Skin Oil (by L'Occitane en Provence) and I've been putting it on every morning after I shower and its made a huge difference in the tight/itchy skin! No stretch marks yet, but I have a few from childhood so I'm assuming I won't get away with none before the end of August...

I think stretch mark creams are modern day snake oil - I did use Burts Bees mama oil to help with itching but had no expectations it would do anything for stretch marks.

My stomach is covered in them but they don't really bug me. The loose skin does a bit, but the marks.. eh. Fortunately they don't bug DH at all! I only got them on my stomach. I think I might be more bothered if they were on my chest.

I also got some during puberty..inner thighs, mainly. I got a lot from LO in the last 3 weeks or so, but they've almost completely faded 7 months PP. the grooves are still there, though :) I don't mind them at all!

I already have a ton of stretch marks pretty much all over my body from gaining a bunch of weight in puberty. They're faded and I'm used to them. Because I got them so easily then I figure I'll get more during this pregnancy so I'm not really doing anything special. I already used lotion on my whole body before but I haven't changed the type or frequency. I know they'll fade and its not a big deal if I get new ones.

I have a long way to go (only 28 weeks now), so I totally expect to get them any week now. I have a bunch from puberty on my hips, but they are very white and I'm also very white, so I never notice them.

(secret). I actually think my husband's are worse. He's skinny and has been his whole life, but he must have grown really quickly as a kid (he's 6'2), because he has them alllll over his lower back and booty. And since his skin is dark, the pearly-lightness of the stretchmarks show more. But still, somehow his butt is better. So I've realized that faded stretchmarks > dimples from cellulite. lol

I lather myself up with belly butter twice a day, and try to stay active and hydrated. I'm just about 30 weeks, and have no signs of any, yet. However, with ten weeks to go, I'm aware they could pop up at any moment. I will be sad if they show up, but understand there's nothing I can do.

I noticed my first ones last night... they're on my thighs right below my hips and they're very faint. Oh well! I might take small measures to try to get rid of them after pregnancy, but I won't stress if they don't go away. I don't think I care enough to do laser treatment or anything like that. Battle wounds :)

I am actively preventing them right now with lotions and oils, but I recognize that I probably don't have much control over it. Like PP, I have some very faded ones on my hips that haven't caused me any problems in my life, so I'm sure I can handle whatever happens with pregnancy.

Also wanted to say that I love what you said at the end of your post. I think it's incredibly powerful to think about all it takes from our bodies to bring a LO into this world, and your attitude is refreshing!

I use lotion every time I shower, but mostly because it feels really good-- my stomach feels dry and itchy otherwise. I don't believe it really helps with the stretch marks, but at the same time, I don't anticipate actually getting too many since I never really did during puberty, and my sister didn't. But, I do anticipate my stomach never looking the same again (it wasn't exactly flat and toned before pregnancy either) and I'm OK with it. I was just saying to DH this morning that even if my body never goes back to normal it will be worth it. (Easy for me to say now, at the tail end of my second trimester, though!)

I'm only 3 months along but I'm not going to bother. I don't think any cream or lotion can prevent stretch marks--it's all genetic! I'm sure I'll use lotion once I get dry/itchy skin.

I have tons of (not very noticible) stretch marks from puberty and weight loss/gain/loss/gain, lol. They don't bother me. Maybe if I wore 2 pieces or showed my midsection ever, but I don't, except to DH, who is supportive and doesn't really care if I have stretch marks or not... pretty sure that's WAY low on his list of worries, like, below Zombie Apocalypse. I put on lotion when my skin feels dry and that's about it! Glad others aren't really worked up over this either!

I'm bothered by them at the moment, because I'm still pregnant and they are RED and huge, but at the same time, all the weight gain/puberty marks I have faded to almost invisible after a long enough time, so I know eventually they won't bother at all. I just wish they were like, on my sides where I didn't have to look at them in the mirror every day lol! :p

I haven't applied lotion or done anything to prevent stretch marks yet even though I'm closely monitoring my growing belly. The fact that they're hereditary determines if you get them or not is the main reason I've been eh about moisturizing.

I didn't apply a single thing to prevent them. I think twice in my pregnancy I put some regular old lotion on my belly but only because it itched, not because of stretch marks. I didn't get a single one despite my lack of effort to control them... so I'm a big believer that they are simply genetic.

I applied cream with my first pregnancy but got lazy and probably only did it for a month or two. I ended up with a few small stretch marks near my belly button, and I'm not bothered by it.

I'm trying to do whatever I can to prevent them just so when/if they arrive, I know I did what i could! I'll be sad when I get them but will know it's out of my control.
