I'll go to her house as soon as she puts her kids down and lounge around housitting for 2-3 hours. The one time we had someone babysit, we just brought my son to our friends' house and we went out early and then picked him up after (they offered to do this). We normally have date nights after the kids go to bed so I literally go over there and watch tv for a few hours! We usually do it the same weekend (so one couple goes out Friday night and the other goes out Saturday night). I have a few friends who have a very successful one in another part of the city. Ours has 8 families, you earn points for doing sits and spend them for sits. How does it work? </p> <p>I'm doing a babysitting swap with neighbors for the first time tonight. I came over at 7 put their kid to bed and will watch TV (or work) until 11 or so. As soon as we can pick another mutually agreeable date DH and I will get our turn to go out. </p> <p>A friend's neighborhood does it where all the kids (6-8 of them) stay at one house and all the parents go out, often as a group. DS is not yet 2 so he seems a little young for that but I look forward to trying that in the future. </p>
