I drank less than I would have if we weren't TTC but still drank. The week before I got a positive I don't think I drank anything, maybe a glass of wine one night.</p> <p>This time I was still nursing and had no period yet so there was no TWW. I still had glasses of wine here and there. While trying I only really drank before I O'd. I was pretty lax with it though. But the cycle we did conceive actually worked out well. I was at my sister's bachelorette before I O'd and drank, but post-O I just knew I shouldn't. Even though I know it isn't supposed to be a big deal until implantation, I didn't drink a drop after my sister's bachelorette even when out at parties. I think it's safe to abstain from O date on, although I know alcohol can mess with TTC in general (my OB said for BOTH of us to avoid it) so cutting back is never a bad thing. I was temping / charting, so I drank for the first half of my cycle, and stopped about 4 days before I expected to ovulate. We got lucky on our first try, but I suspect I would have continued not drinking. And it's good to find other ways to relax without that wonderful glass of wine. </p> <p>I've shifted on this topic over time. I was "drink till it's pink-whoo hoo!" in the beginning. Now we're on our fifth cycle, and I've been trying to look more into diet and other things. A few books I have read encourage limiting/eliminating alcohol not for the safety of the fetus, but to help w/fertility in general. So that is an easy(ish) thing for me to do to help our chances. But when we were TTC and pregnant hubs always gave me final say to make the decisions that I thought were in the best interest of me and the baby.
