We sleep trained when switched from the swaddle to Magic Merlin Suit. Did it cold turkey. One night he was swaddled and nursed/rocked/soothed to sleep, the next night he was in his sleep suit put to bed drowsy but awake. He did much better than we expected.

We are 5 months old and just started the magic sleep suit a few weeks ago. It's amazing! LO has been sleeping hours longer before waking up to eat.

We did very light sleep training (i.e. if you are just lightly grunting and moaning, I'm not going to come running) with the Magic Merlin Suit - we swear by it now! I got it off the classifieds.

I'm sure people have, but I wasnt comfortable sleep training until she was ready to be done with the swaddle. Only because it may be difficult for baby to self soothe with no hands and that might make sleep training even harder for both of you guys!

If he isn't rolling yet, he's going to be soon, so I think it might be worth weaning off the swaddle or maybe investing in a Merlin Sleep Suit. I've heard great things about it.

4 months.. Ds1 was out of a swaddle at 2.5 months and we sleep trained at 4.5 but ds2 is still needing the swaddle. Oy.

How old are they? I feel like if you're still swaddling, they might be way too young to sleep train.
My daughter HATED the swaddle and would burst out of even the tightest muslin so I'm no help. Sorry!

I'm just all over the sleep training boards lately.. God help me.

Anyway- has anyone sleep trained a swaddled LO? Or is swaddle weaning pretty necessary?
