I feel like it happens during my pumps at the end of the day and not so much in the morning. I previously tried smaller flanges, but that created different problems. I also tried larger and still didn't help. A lactation consultant at the hospital watched me pump with the 27mm and said she thought that was the right fit for me so thats consistent with what you were told. I use the 27mm flange because the 24mm is definitely too small but the 27mm hurts too and it seems like too much areola gets sucked in. There doesnt seem to be a size in between these two. Does anyone else bave issues finding a comfortable flange size? </p>
