@ladybee: Then tell your doc you want to try something else. I'm sorry mama, that is hard!

@pastemoo: I'm only taking half of a 25mg pill and it's still making me feel drunk and dizzy when I wake up to feed my newborn. That combined with the constant headache make me feel like it's not going to work for me.

@ladybee: I didn't have headaches - it was a while ago, but I remember I was so frustrated by the extreme drowsiness because I responded really well to it otherwise. Sounds like a pretty lousy side effect for you, though - I'd def ask your doc about it.

@ms.line: did you have headaches at all while on it? It's the only change I've made and I've had a constant headache, all day, no matter what I do.

@ladybee: Of course - and feel free to wall me anytime. I know how rough depression and anxiety can be - thinking of you and hoping you find the right combo soon.

I was on Seroquel for a while. It helped my anxiety a lot but I did always feel like I was in a sleepy daze. I eventually stopped it because I just couldn't function during the day. I think drowsiness is a common side effect, and the fact that you've already felt an improvement is probably a good sign. But if you just feel too "out of it" even after a couple weeks don't be afraid to ask your doc to try another med. Bedtime klonopin is what ended up working best for me. Good luck! :goodluck:

I don't have personal experience, but have worked with clients who take seroquel, and sedation is a commonly reported side effect. I hope you can find the right medication for you!

My PPD/PPA after DS2 (who's 2 weeks old today) has been horrible. I've been seeing a psychiatrist since I was 16 weeks pregnant since my depression and anxiety were so bad. My OB took me off some meds at the end and it has turned out to be a horrible idea.

At birth, I was on a low does of AD and have had it upped twice. On Monday, my psychiatrist added 25mg of Seroquel once a day, at bedtime. The first night it knocked me on my ass, the second night wasn't as bad, and last night was a little better. The issue is I do not hear my newborn crying, like at all. Maybe it'll get into my dream but when DH tries to wake me, I'm in a daze, almost like drunk.

I've emailed my doctor to see if this is normal or if I could cut my dose and see improvement. I was just hoping someone here has some experience.
