They do it every year as a fundraiser. We paid like $8 for the photo and it was donated to a local shelter I believe. </p> <p>It was a bit of a disaster because our dog was nervous...he has some separation anxiety and they made us stand behind the camera. Our Petco had a female employee dressed as Santa, which was totally fine, but it was kind of hilarious because she was really tiny so the beard and suit were HUGE on her (maybe this freaked our dog out more because the beard was so obviously fake?). It doesn't help that our dog is black with dark eyes, so you can't really make out his facial features in the photo and he had all 60ish pounds of himself sitting in the corner of the chair. The photo turned out pretty bad, but it was still fun, Mack wasn't too upset about it, and the money goes to a good cause, so maybe we will try again this year. The situation seems to combine our dog's fear of being separated from us along with her fear of large men, and then she always ends up looking terrified and out of control! This is unlike her because she tends to know exactly what to do in front of the camera and loves posing. She has this weird fear of men, so I wonder if she will just bark at him the whole time. LOL! At least, I can say I tried! </p> <p>If not, it will be a good opportunity to take her into a pet store. It's so cute when I see other pets in the store. </p> <p>Both stores are doing it for free but they suggest you donate money to a pet charity that they use. So, it's for a good cause. </p>
