Our doctor said we could start giving her other milk once she got to 11 months. She's a great eater and eats a huge variety of foods, so I'm not particularly worried about her nutrition.

We're still nursing 2x/day and giving a bottle of pumped milk at bedtime, but I've been trying other milks with meals. We've tried goat and homemade almond milk..she's not a huge fan but we're starting to make some progress by watering down the milk. We plan to decrease the amount of water/increase the amount of milk over time.

I think your plan sounds totally reasonable!

@Mamaof2: Ok, I'm feeling better now. I tried coconut milk the other day and she giggled and looked at me like I was nuts. Lol!

I did with my DD - she was also 11 months - my supply had tanked and we were soooo close to 1 so I asked my Ped and he said it was totally fine. She still nursed when at home but had CM at school (if I managed to pump anything then I mixed in in with the CM)

She did fine with it!

My girl turned 11mos a few days ago. She has been taking frozen pumped milk and nursing once a day since about 9 months. About 10 days ago she dropped nursing completely and has been taking 3-4 bottles, usually between 4-5oz. She eats solids 3x a day and usually has a small snack. I'm about to run out of pumped milk and our peditrician thinks that because her diet is well balanced, that we can transition to another milk alternative and add in some vitamins. Has anyone done something similar? How did it go? We are hoping to do almond or goat milk before trying cow milk and I'm nervous she is going to hate everything cause she's in a picky eating phase.
