@Maysprout: Thank you! That really helps. Yup my fever was gone within 24 hours, so now I'm just waiting on the rest...Hopefully soon and my supply wont suffer too much :) Thanks again!

My fever was gone within 24 hours and I felt a lot better. The lump though took several days to completely go away. And it was probably 5 days or so after the antibiotic that I felt like my strength was back to normal, mastitis really wiped me out.

@Maysprout: Thanks. From what I read dyapen is common for mastitis (it's the one listed on kellymom too). How long did it take for the lump to go away? I feel much better but that's still there and I'm not able to get much out.

I don't remember which antibiotic I took when I had mastitis but it was OKd for breastfeeding by the doc and some online stuff I looked up. I think it may have affected her temporarily, her poos were different, but after I finished the antibiotics she went back to normal.

Did you continue to nurse or pump and dump during the time you were taken the medication? Did LO start to not nurse well?

I was just prescribed this for a breast infection (mastitis) by my OB/GYN and was encouraged to continue to breast feed, however dynapen is a class B drug, which does pass into the breast milk. It's in the penicillin family and I'm not sure if I want DS to nurse while I'm taking it. I took 3 pills so far and DS seem to not be nursing well (which could be from the clogged duct) and he is a total bear! Fussy, not sleeping, etc. I gave him a bottle of frozen milk and he ate much better... Maybe I shouldn't even take the medication? I feel much better today, less flu-like, but my breast is still sore.
