@allison: yay babies! I gave birth 2/2/13. The roids never completely went away during pregnancy but I also had lots of constipation throughout my entire pregnancy, so they were exacerbated a lot. But they shrank considerably with the bottom balm and didn't itch/burn anymore! I also bought that motherlove sitz bath stuff but haven't used it - it's hard to find the time to soak my lady bits for 15 minutes!

I hated this part of postpartum. So painful! The tucks and spray really helped me.

@ladyfingers: Ah! We have babies! And that's really interesting that you felt like the balm shrank your rhoids. Like, they're gone now? Or just temporarily? When did you give birth?

I haven't used it yet, but I got the spray for postpartum. I sprayed it on my arm and thought it smelled really good and felt soothing. I thought it was funny that it suggested you could use it on your face too, so if I don't need it/it doesn't work I'll probably just spray it anywhere.

I loooooooved the spray! If I still had hems I'd still he using it. Between using the bottom spray and a healing herbs tea steep, I healed a lot quicker than I think I would have otherwise. It was very soothing.

I'll definitely be using it again when I have another baby.

I disagree!! I had hemorrhoids in pregnancy and used tucks and prep h for a week with no relief. I bought the bottom balm and not only did it make me feel better but it shrink the roid within a day. I've been using it postpartum (sooooo many hemorrhoids) and again it's worked wonders. I would say the prep h is more of a giant waste of money, in my experience.

@scg00387: @sarac: @littlebug: Thanks! I don't think I'll be getting either one, now.

@Weagle: Just ordered some Ching Wan Hung. Thanks for the suggestion. Fingers crossed.

@tororojo: "Sadly I think only time makes them get smaller". This statement makes me so sad! I want a magic cure.

I like the Tucks pads w/witch hazel--I just let em hang out in the crack area for a soothing effect. Haven't tried them with Prep. H but will keep it in mind for post partum! Sadly I think only time makes them get smaller; in the meantime all you can really do is soothe them, eat plenty of fiber to prevent additional ones and maybe do some Kegels.

Yeah, waste of money imho. The drugs in hemorrhoid creams are really what helps to make you feel better.

I tried both of those and couldn't tell any difference. Waste of money for me! I agree with mamamoose about the tucks pads.

I found it most helpful to put Preparation H on a folded up Tucks pad and then leave the pad between your cheeks for a while. The nurses told me to do that and I thought it was super weird and didn't want to do it. Well eventually I was uncomfortable enough to try it and it really worked!

I used the spray, but it didn't especially help with hemorrhoids. It did help me feel cleaner, though. The best stuff I found for 'rhoids is Ching Wan Hung. My doula recommended it. It's seriously amazing.

http://www.amazon.com/Ching-Wan-Hung-External-Ointment/dp/B002ATPG3A/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

ETA: This stuff is like having a Tucks pad that never falls out from between your cheeks :)

I'm using the nipple butter and baby bottom balm from the Earth Mama Angel Baby line, and I like both, so far. I'm considering ordering either the Mama Bottom Balm or the New Mama Bottom Spray, but wanted to check in with HB to see if anyone had had success with either of these, first.

Thoughts?
