You can track them through the app to see them arriving. I've done it about 5+ times now and have had only one grumpy driver, the others were absolutely pleasant and I tend to talk a lot. </p> <p>The bad thing is that you have to arrange it at the location and time you want to pick up. So in fairly accessible places, there are always ones in the area and it shows you how many minutes it will take for them to pickup, once you request a car. For not-so-popular locations, I would be wary. They are regular established taxi drivers that also use Uber as their agent to connect them to close customers via gps. It's huge in big cities in the US and London. I love it and have switched over for the convenience. No more giving info over the phone to a cab company. Just click and they show up. I'm pretty sure Uber vets all drivers and cars to make sure they're safe. Uber is an app you can d/l. You pre-enter your credit card info, so when you need a ride, you can pull up the app and it shows you cars that are around you and how long it takes them to get to you. You can set a destination to see how much it will cost. All tips are included so there's no cash to transact. I've also used it in ATL. I LOVE Uber. I watched that one episode of SVU where they taxicab driver drove the lady from the airport to some abandoned place, raped and killed her! So, I don't do taxis. Uber *seems* better (yes I know of a couple of bad experiences with uber but less chances than random taxis), and there's a record of who picked me up, so you know who go to looking for when I don't make it home. It's great because there's a picture of the driver that's picking you up, and what make and model their car is and driver's license plate. These are all things I make a note of and send to DH or my co-worker if I'm leaving work. Yeah, it's deep, but working in a DA's office will do that to you too! I love seeing that picture so I know it's the right person. They're friendly, offer you water, clean cars, and they always have a coupon deal going. I pay $10-24 and I live outside the city, so it's $24 range when I take it from work home. When I'm beating around town it's usually $10, and I *never* use uber without a coupon.
