I don't think I'll be doing much in the way of distance because I stop getting AF when I go past a mile or two, so my goal is just to run that distance without stopping. I'd love to do a 5k in the fall! This morning I took the first step and added some running back into my walk...it's time to find a longer route around my home!

&#60;p&#62;So I ran a mile in 8 minutes last night. Why? Because B got a bee sting in the stroller one mile into my run. I had to get home to put a baking soda paste on it! :(&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;But I'm relieved to know I can run that fast? Kept up with 2-3 miles a day. Got up to 4 and doing 5 at the end of this week.

<description>&#60;p&#62;@HLK208: Sorry, I'm totally butting in to this thread, but when is your 10k? I think you can totally train for that by September. I was reading your plan to build up your mileage each week and I think another good way to approach that is to build up for two weeks, then back down for one week, then back up for two weeks, etc. So, for example, if your longest run this week is 3 miles, next week you'd go up to 4, then up to 5 the week after, then back to 3 the next week, then back to 5 again, then 6, then back down to 4, etc...The cut back week would give your legs a chance to recover and could help prevent injury!

<description>&#60;p&#62;@babyjmama:  it really is so much easier to run a race than to train. There are tons of people cheering you on constantly. It feels so good to pass people who are in shape too lol. At the R&#38;amp;R, there were teams of runners that did intervals so I kind of kept up with them after I got tired at mile 6 haha. Their team leader was super motivating! My first half was one of my favorite experiences - the endorphins were insane :)

<description>&#60;p&#62;@MerryC:  I did the Rock n' Roll Seattle half but not the regular Seattle. I only got up to 5 miles training before though so I could have done better but I averaged an 11 minute mile. It wasn't bad but my feet were DYING for a good two weeks lol. The Seattle half has some good hills (a few friends who have done it told me about the route) but training with the double bob is harder than anything else :)
