SO morbid, I know :( ! I hope it's not true, but there were some things during the finale last season that made me think so and the fact that they never talk about the mother in any of the FAR future stories - like when they're all old (even though there haven't been very many). I was angry that Marshall took the judgeship without consulting Lily first. I feel like if he had AT LEAST called her first (surely whoever was offering the appointment could have waited 24 hours for an answer so he could talk to his wife?) that she wouldn't have reacted as badly as she did. I would be pissed, too. </p> <p>And though I thought her saying that she had never been that selfish was opening a can of worms, even though I'm torn about the SF thing. She did run off, yes, but she had wanted to do long-distance and Marshall said no, all or nothing. Which I get, because it was a few months before their wedding? But I thought it was horribly mean of him to throw that in her face. </p> <p>I guess that's one of the things relationships boil down to, though....knowing that your SO has the ability to cut the deepest, to be the most hurtful to you, and trusting them not to do it. I don't blame Lily for leaving, but then I know she'll be back (as we saw in the flash-forwards of her at the wedding and of her and Marshall in the future). I was thinking it was either Ranjit or the Captain that picked her up. </p> <p>Side note: I love the Mother. And so far it's proving not to be, but I am really enjoying the wrapping up of loose ends. I actually don't mind the whole season taking place over 3 days, but I do wish it were still as funny as it used to be.
