I haven’t done any research, but I take the gummies myself and give the kids the kid dose gummies and I feel like they help ward off colds. But I’ve also bought a small bottle of the syrup- zarbees brand maybe- that’s probably small enough to bring in a carryon.

But I just started a yucky cold yesterday and have been taking the gummies plus emergency-C and echinacea tea, and probably times like this that syrup would be better.

ETA- also my gummies say a daily dose is 3 gummies. The gummies within the link you posted don’t really say what a serving is. But yeah that is a big difference!

We're pretty devoted elderberry consumers - I usually buy the syrup at our grocery store and dilute a small dosage in my daughter's water once a day. For the record, this is the syrup we usually buy: https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Answer-Alcohol-Free-Sambucus-Extract/dp/B0017QPM6S/ref=sr_1_15_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1545159971&sr=1-15&keywords=elderberry%2Bsyrup&th=1

We're about to travel for the holidays and I wanted to keep up with this, but didn't want to drag syrup in luggage so I went to look for gummies, and I'm really confused about the vast difference in dose. Our syrup has 2.5 *grams* (2500 milligrams) of elderberry per dose (so kiddo gets half that), but the gummies across multiple brands only have 50-100 *milligrams* per dose, so it's basically less than a percent of the syrup dose, significantly less than the syrup. Does anyone know why there's such a discrepancy and if it's even worth buying the gummies as a result?
