I'm just starting to temp for TTC #2. I've been right around 96.5F. I think I had similar numbers when I TTC #1. I've never thought about them being low.

@As Time Goes By: mine were quite low as well but I showed my mw the charts and she was not concerned.. However once I started temping vaginally instead of orally they got higher and more consistent!

Thanks everyone! I know there is a good chance it is nothing, but I am going to mention it at my appointment next week.

@Crystal: Glad I could help! I think letting my Doctor know about things removes them from my list of worries a bit!

@KelLeeLeee: @GoGoSnoGirl: Good luck ladies! Hopefully the TTC journey is almost over for you!

My temperatures are low like yours too. I have no known health issues, I really don't think I have a thyroid problem, buttttt I am on month 6 of ttc. These positive stories make me feel okay about it though!

I'm glad you posted this! I have the same issue and was wondering if that was a factor as to why we've had issues ttc... I guess I should at least bring it up with my dr!

I'm usually low to mid 97°s pre-O, just into 98-something after. I am hypothyroid, though, & on Synthroid low dose to see if that'll improve my thyroid levels. I too have thought this was related to my hypothyroid, but don't recall what my temps were in my younger years. I got preg in April, but had a mc at 6wks. No way to know exactly why. Otherwise I have checked out normal so far, so I don't think the low temps on their own are a problem.

Mine was about the same as yours. I don't have thyroid issues. I tried to get pregnant twice and got pregnant both times on the first try (though the first pregnancy resulted in miscarriage). Good luck! I've heard it can indicate thyroid issues, but I don't think that's always the case!!!

Mine was always low, 95/96F before ovulation and low 97F afterward. I didn't have trouble TTC and have a nine-month-old.

@As Time Goes By: I have low temps, I went to see an acupuncturist who also specialized in Chinese medicine. She said I had a weak yang & gave me a list of foods to eat, told me to drink room temp, wear socks, sleep with a heat pack & did treatments to help. I do have hashimotos which is an autoimmune disorder that causes an under active thyroid.

Just FYI, a thyroid problem isn't that big a deal. I am hypothyroid and take Synthroid to manage it. My thyroid levels are all completely normal now! It's a very common hormone imbalance.

Do you have any other symptoms? Over tired? Can't lose/gain weight?

I don't think so, when I wake up enough to temp I've never noticed my mouth open. I'll try to pay more attention!

I'm a bit concerned because Google "says" low temps can be an indicator of thyroid problems and both sides of my family has had issues with their thyroid :bummed: I'm going to the Doctor next week anyways, so I think I'll mention it.

I decided to try charting this month on the recommendation of posters on the June POAS thread. I am on CD 6 and my temperatures have all been under 35.8 degrees C (96.4 F). After looking through some charts this seems low and googling didn't help!

Anyone else with low temps? Did it cause problems TTCing? Did you try raising your temp?

Thanks!
