Low supply here, and still going strong. My daughter's 14 months and she's still nursing around 4 times a day. I'm literally still shocked that we've made it this long since I struggled so much at the beginning. She gets around 4-6oz extra a night (used to do formula, but switched to whole milk at 12 months). I nursed Ellie until age 5 with a low supply. There was milk there until during my pregnancy, so for 4+ years. Your body should continue to make some milk as long as you continue to nurse, even though you might not make "enough" for nursing without any supplementation during the first year. I understand the basics of supply &amp; demand, but I wasn't sure how it comes into play with low supply. </p> <p>I assume my daughter is receiving about 15 ounces of breast milk and 15 ounces of formula each day. I'm totally okay with supplementing, but I also hope to extend breastfeeding to a year or longer. </p> <p>Is this realistic? I'd love to hear your success stories with a low supply! </p>
