It Breaks my heart hearing her scream and nothing helps! I try to get her to sleep before getting in the carseat, and that tends to be better until she wakes up! Liv HAAAAAAATES it. She buicks and tries to rip the straps off and makes Hulk noises like shes trying to rip them. She ahs screamed for over 3 hours before without a break. When she was little she hated when we stopped and would freak out if we were at a light, but then would be fine the second we hit a green light again. She usually calms down once we start moving but cries again anytime the car slows or stops, which in LA traffic can be often! She'll usually fall asleep after 10 minutes or so of fast driving. </p> <p>Last weekend there was a huge accident and the freeway was shut down all day. We were stuck for 2 1/2 hours trying to get home with LO screaming at the top of her lungs the whole time. Now she somewhat tolerates it up to about 30 minutes then she starts fussing. I think it's the combination of being confined with no fun things to do (she gets bored of the toys we do brig after a bit). She would cry and cry... It was torturous being in the car with her. Now she doesn't mind it at all. We live in a central location though so we aren't in a lot of traffic nor do we drive very far anyway though. Charlie hated it too until he was older than 2. Being able to face forward at 1 made a big difference, but it wasn't until pretty recently that he was ok sitting in a car seat for a long time, and he always falls asleep too which he never used to do.</p> <p>It's tough to go anywhere further than 30 minutes with Olive in the car because she starts throwing a fit!</p> <p>Anyone else's baby hate riding in the car? </p>
