So my daughter is our only princess. I actually think my daughter and two year old son have a better relationship than the boys. That could change, because she likes being a little mommy and the two year old might get over being a "baby" soon (though we'll have a real baby soon, so who knows). My brothers are very close and I would say I'm reasonably close with them now. However, I did not enjoy those dynamics growing up. I think that's more because of my parents than anything else. The boys got priority in a lot of things because there were two of them and they did have similar interests. So like if we were on vacation and there was a choice between going on a train ride (boys) or petting dolphins (me), they won. Also on vacations they would get to share the 2nd queen in hotels and I got the floor. They sound so minor now, but as a kid I definitely felt like the least important part of my family. I grew up with a sister who was 2 years older than me. I had no brothers and no father around. It was my mom, sister and I. Unfortunately my sister and I didn't really get along (she was the big sis who hated little sis following her around). To this day, we aren't close. My DD is just absolutely amazing with my DS. When i got pregnant with him, I was terrified! The only boy I had ever been around was my DH...thankfully I fell head over heels for him once he was born. I"m no longer scared of having a boy as I know he will warm my heart...I'm more worried about our family dynamic and hoping that the boys and my daughter will still balance out somehow. I loved the dynamic between the 3 of us, we had fun growing up despite the usual fights, and are still close now. I think it helped in our family that I was the oldest, so my middle brother and I were already so close, so it was very rarely boys against girl. </p> <p>I have a 2.5 month old daughter, and hope that our next baby is a boy. I'm really close to my 1st brother but not so close to my youngest bro. My bro's are pretty close - they do a lot of house and car projects together. I never wanted a sister growing up so I was happy with two younger bro's. I thought I would have girl, boy, girl but starting to feel very strongly of another boy! My boy is great so I'm sure it will be amazing. </p>
