I read to him when I nurse him at bedtime- this way he can't escape and he actually seems to enjoy it. Also about the eating the books, this is what worked for us: we have always made him stop chewing on the books BUT he has one book that we didn't really like and that book is in his box with toys. With this one board book we don't care what he does with. Luckily I have most of them memorized so I just keep reciting them while she chews them. </p> <p>She has started lifting the flaps though, which is so adorable. I know she will start ripping them soon enough. And sometimes she will sit and flip through a book by herself which I love. She is 7 months. We try to do them before naps and bed when she is less lively, in addition to other times during the day. We've been reading to her since she was a newborn so maybe she's used to it?
