Like some of the others have mentioned, Vicks (the baby version) on the feet have really seemed to help with LO's coughs. After LO turned 1, we have used Zarbee's - http://www.zarbees.com

Unfortunately no. The coughing is most probably helping her clear the phlegm, so just steamy bath time as others have mentioned.

We use the Boiron Coryzalia cold capsules (homeopathic), and they seem to help relieve some symptoms. We have also used the Kids 0-9 cough & cold, and that works too.

We do Baby Vicks and a warm mist humidifier in his room. We will also do a vapor bath (J&J sells a vapor bath) for him when he has a particularly nasty cold to try to get his nose clear and help with the cough!

Also when he's been on a coughing jag and clearly has a sore throat from all the coughing I'll definitley give him Tylenol and pedialyte cold from the fridge. It really helps sooth his throat and the tylenol helps with the pain.

Nose frieda, sit in a hot steamy bathroom, Maty's vapor rub on bottom of feet, eucalyptus oil in cool mist humidifier.

I would talk to your ped before giving medication. We're not comfortable giving cough meds under 1 and neither was my doc.

We also used warm lemon herbal tea and vick's on te feet w/ socks.
Those together always work like a frikkin charm!!

We use the Maty's all natural chest rub. I've put it I. M2's chest and then her feet with a footed pj or socks. In the morning we do a steamy shower to break up the congestion.

There's nothing you can give them to directly treat the cough (DS has been couging since he started daycare 2.5 months ago) but what really helps him sleep at night is our amazing snot sucker, vaporizer and vicks vapor rub. The snot sucker is NOT the nose frieda, that thing never worked that well for us. I found a great battery operated one at the drugstore and it's changed our lives. It gets so much of the mucus. I put vapor rub on his chest and his feet and put socks on under his PJ's. And the vaporizer runs all night, that helps loosen everything up.

Vicks on feet, hangout in bath with hot shower going for steam, humidifier. We give LO Zarbee's all natural cough but I think they have to be a year for that because of the honey?

@lawbee11: Ahh, like she is full of phlegm?? If so, this is the kind of cough you can go to the doctor and get antibiotics for if it doesn't clear up. But in the meantime, get the saline drops up her nose - it will help her clear out. Oh and run a hot shower and play with LO in the bathroom - the steam will help her clear her chest (we run LO's bath every night using the shower so the bathroom is like a steam room while she's having her bath!).

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything safe to give babies for coughs. Our Ped ok'd us to give LO some benadryl last week when LO had a very bad cough from post nasal drip to dry her up, but she is also older (17 months). He also said we could try honey mixed with green tea and lemon, but I'm not sure if babies can have honey under 1?

Sadly no. Benedryl can dry them up a bit but it won't actually treat the cough. Using a humidifier sometimes helps M when she's coughing badly. And doing saline drops in her nose to help clear the congestion and hopefully stop some of the drainage down her throat.

LO is 8 months old. She once again has a bad cough. Is there anything we can give her, or do we just need to wait it out? She coughed off and on for hours last night, so I know she's not getting good quality sleep (and neither am I because I wake every time I hear her cough!).
