We only wanted to purchase the flue, but the salesperson was trying to sell an installation service. He stands infront of me, touches my stomach and says, you wouldn't want your baby to die because you didn't install your flue properly?? I lost my frikkin mind at this guy. If someone touches your belly, touch theirs in return. </p> <p>Offer the people who say things like that to you some inappropriate advice / comments of your own. "you know, you really don't need that donut"; "you really should dye your hair to cover up that grey / comb it differently to hide where it's thinning". "Wow, your butt has really grown! I hadn't noticed before, but at that angle, it's really obvious!"</p> <p>Even if they're not true. It just points out how rude their comments are.</p> <p>I have resorted to things like that with certain repeat or really obnoxious offenders. Some people mean well, and you can just thank them and roll your eyes after you walk away. Others need to be put in their place! </p> <p>There's a woman I work with who keeps asking if I'm pregnant (I have a big belly now because I've gained weight and I'm a different shape after having C), and after the 3rd time I said "nope, still just fat!" People are jerks, big time. They just don't think about how they are saying can hurt you and have no right to tell you what to do. Our culture assumes that pregnant women are not educated enough to make their own decisions and stick to old wives tales. After careful research I drink a cup of coffee a day (or two), eat undercooked eggs, and gasp take sips of wine.
