My brothers and I all end in the lin sound (though spelled differently) and all are traditional Irish names. My parents weren't going for a pattern, just happened to like the names. As kids we were always running when someone called the other one. What you often hear is the last sound. My name even has more syllables. Not the end of the world but kinda annoying. My parents were worried because my sister's and youngest brother's names start with A but one is a long A and the other a short one. I kind of cringe when people say our full names in the same sentence. Too similar, ending in the same sound? We're not going for any sort of naming theme.</p> <p>We are trying to name our second boy and are having some trouble agreeing (again). While DH and I like a similar name style, we don't usually like the same names. I'd hate to throw out one we both might like if we're just overthinking the matchiness. </p>
