UPDATE: I’m two days late for my period and just took a FRER and got a stark white BFN. So, I’m kind of thinking the Walgreens brand picked up an early chemical pregnancy and now my period is late because of that. Still not sure though what’s going on for sure. Weird month.

UPDATE: I took another FRER this morning and it was a clear negative. So looks like I had 3 false positives on the Walgreens brand pink dye tests. So buyer beware!

@schubr03: I get lines just like your top test every time I POAS which is fairly frequently since my cycles change length about every 3-4 months and I’m impatient to start TTC again. If I take a blue dye test I always get a blue line within 10 minutes but have never been pregnant (so kind of soon for evap). Cheap Pink tests I take look like yours—a grey or clear/white line. FRER are the only ones that have ever given me a stark white BFN so I’d personally go with that.

Because I have no self control, I tested again this morning with a FRER. Stark BFN. So weird that I got two (possible three) BFP on those Walgreens brand tests and it wouldn’t show on the FRER.

@schubr03: I had also read that false positives were unlikely but I guess that's wrong?

@Mrsbells: I got a false positive on a digital frer last week! I’ve taken 6 regular line tests since then and they have all been negative.

@schubr03: it’s still early, I didn’t get my positives until 12 dpo.

@LAZB: this is so weird. Some places I read that there is like zero chance of false positives and then I read the reviews of the Walgreens brand and like every review is a story of a false positive! I never know what to believe. Ahhh!!!

I've only ever used Wondfos and they showed very faint positives at 5dp5dt/10dpo equivalent and nice darkness progression. I'd invest in those if you like to poas a lot.

@LAZB: thanks for the heads up. I read up on the reviews and it seems like EVERYONE gets positives on those tests.
I went and bought a FRER and took both at the same time. I’m going to say that the Walgreens is probably a false positive. I’m only 10dpo. So it’s probably still too early to rule it out, but I’m not ready to say I’m pregnant yet.

If probably just wait 2 days and test again whether or not you use a FRER or other brand.

Too many women have been given false hope it seems on testing early with FRERs. I'm team pee on all the things, but I also get whiter than white BFNs with the occasional false hope faint blue line on a blue test. Others though get the faintest of faint pink lines on FRER even with confirmed negative beta results.

Congrats! I've been pregnant three times, always used a cheapie first to test at 11dpo and got the faintest of faint squinters, which were always significantly darker on a FRER. Like, I would have doubted the cheapies but not the FRER.

Other people complain of false positives. I only use them when I had an indication from a cheapie that it was likely to be positive, so fortunately haven't had this problem.

I took a test yesterday morning and got the slightest line. This morning I got the same results. Both tests were generic, pink-dye tests from Walgreens. Would a FRER be more sensative that these or would it be pretty much the same thing?
