My son didn't get his first cold until almost 10 months, he caught it from my husband, who caught it from another sick dad at work. I think he would have gotten sick much earlier if he had gone to daycare, which is the experience every single one of my friends who returned to work have faced. Not saying that it is the daycare's fault, it's just I don't think they keep things that clean and kids often are contagious before symptoms present themselves. For me, sickness isn't a bad thing, it's an inconvenience more than anything. She had a could during the winter when she started daycare and then caught a bacterial cold this month. She has avoided pink eye and hand foot mouth disease.
