It's not manga tiles but hubs said if LO really likes them we will shell out for manga tiles later... since picasso tiles claim to work with them... Our science museum also has the same set so I figure they must be pretty durable! We have the main set (100 pieces or so?) and then a couple of expansion packs they got as gifts - doors and windows, and trains or something. Both are from different manufacturers. My daughter has a bunch of less expensive building blocks that she uses frequently, so it just wouldn't make sense for us. My daughter is 2.5 and plays with them all the time at daycare. My kids play with it everyday still. It's the one toy that they can play independently for hours on. We had a cheaper alternative and the magnets were not as strong, so I boxed them up and plan on donating them.
