In my apartment building everyone keeps to themselves. It's so weird. If you happen to pass someone walking down the hall, they look away and avoid contact or even saying hi. It's so bizarre.</p> <p>It was easier to meet people here in high school/college. I am from London originally and I think Londoners are nice too, but perhaps a bit more polite and reserved at first. My husband and I walk to the train and our neighbor calls us every morning when he is leaving for work in the morning to drive us to the train (it's about a 6 min walk). Our other neighbors snow blow our walk and drive every storm, two doors down a recent empty nester calls on Saturday nights when she is home and will sit with kids so we can go out for a drink, on Halloween they give specific gifts to our kids, come over on Xmas eve with gifts and then we also get together with the young families for pizza/beer nights a few times a year. However, our street is not. We rarely, if ever, see any of our neighbors. We had a HOA meeting in October and only a few people showed up.
