My newly-turned 2 yr old has never been a stellar napper. I kept looking forward to those 2-3 hour naps once he got down to one nap, but it never happened. His nap length has gotten shorter and shorter since he dropped to one. Some kids are better at sleeping/need more sleep than others!</p> <p>My now 4 y.o. stopped napping consistently at home by age 2. We still do "quiet time" in her room which has been a sanity saver for both of us!</p> <p>My ten month old loves to sleep, goes down easy, wakes up happy, and likes naps. He naps at daycare and usually naps when DH puts him down, but that is starting to become hit or miss. However what I do now when I'm alone with him and the baby is take him out for a stroller nap and it works. She gets super cranky by bedtime even when I do bed a little early. Most of the time she respects the rule that she doesn't have to sleep but she has to rest in her bed quietly until her clock lights up- at least she will for an hour or so, then she starts calling me or saying she has to go potty (she wears a pull up for naps). I feel like I've tried everything and the best bet for them is to ride out the day and go to bed early. My 3 year old gets SO cranky though and no nap kills me! </p>
