@mynoahbear: I called and they said just 1 but online it allows me to add other free classes so I'm not sure?

@Bao: are you only allowed to try out 1 class? Can you try out 1 music class and 1 gym class? My LO went to the gym class every week but we also tried out the music class when she was 6 months and she wasn't too into it. It could have just been the theme that week that bored her (hawaiian) but after that, we waited until she was a little older for music class.

@mynoahbear: I haven't tried the class yet obviously but when I called the person who answered was SOOO cheerful lol...which is good. LO is almost 6 months so close in age to your LO when you started. I am excited to try out the free class, hopefully it's in the budget in the near future.

We started Gymboree when LO was 5 months old. It helped with her crawling and sitting because she saw other babies doing it. Once she was older and more active and graduated to the next class, she started to really have fun. Plus it was nice meeting other mommies. It definitely depends on the teacher and other parents.

We loved Gymboree!! We saved major $$$ by signing up at the beginning of summer. I think it was discounted for all 3 months of summer AND you got unlimited classes and drop-in playtimes. I think we were there like 3 times a week. We'd even go on Saturday mornings sometimes. A clean indoor place for kids to run around in like crazy AND air conditioned was awesome to have all summer long!!

@MamaBehr: yeah I really want to do it but we may have to wait. We are buying a house and a car at the moment so not sure the classes will be in the budget. Maybe this summer :)

@Bao I have the same trepidation..... I did do some Mommy & Me classes at the Y, which wasn't too bad in terms of price. I know that DD had fun and got some things out of them, but Gymboree and My Little Gym etc just seem so expensive that I'm not sure we can really afford it.

You might also want to see if theres any free classes like that near you. Both the jewish community center and our local presbetarian church have free classes, and they arent religious at all.

we did kidville which is similar to gymboree for both charlie and olive and though they were pricey, they were definitely worth it. both made so many friends through the classes. plus it gave us a lot to do during the winters because they have a playspace!

i think being around other kids also helped them to be a lot more social. charlie was a little shy and had stranger anxiety when he was a baby. i think the classes helped him be less shy!

We started Gymboree when my son was 20 months and he has really experienced a lot of development since then! I don't know if it's a coincidence but I'm happy with the classes for the most part.

I feel like it depends on the teacher and the other families. There are some classes that have been worth their weight in gold and others we have hated. Can you call and find out what the policy is for backing out or see if you can do a trial earlier? I believe Gymboree has those free open play times which is a nice perk even if the class isn't all you hoped it would be.

We just signed LO up for a trial Gymboree Music class but it isn't until April 1st. There is a promotion right now to get $20 off the first 3 months but it expires at the end of March, so I would have to sign up and pay before we can trial, to get the promotion. Has anyone's LO taken these classes and is it worth the cost? Do you think it benefited them at all? We are working on getting LO out of the house and working on her social skills.
