Not that I think Hubs' name is cursed or anything, BUT a few years ago we went through a really rough patch (this was 2 years before we were even married) where we broke up and I moved out of the house....it was a huge mess. His nickname is Ike (which has to do with his last name, not his first). That same year, Hurricane Ike hit our area. It rained like crazy for 2 days straight and caused a fair amount of chaos. At the time, it seemed so completely appropriate. </p> <p>In response to the original question, no, I don't think names are cursed. I work in a hospital and I can meet a completely off-their-rocker person one day, and meet someone with the same name the next day who is totally sweet and sane and normal. I always thought to myself that if I ever have a son, I hope he turns out like Cain. There is a very common boy's name that I have come across many times in teaching and social work and I swear, every single one of them was an absolute terror.
