Our bachelor/bachelorette parties often ask for $100 from each guest and that would cover things like: hotel for 2 nights, dinner (pizza) on the first night, snacks and mixers for the room, and some limited alcohol. But they had more than enough food and good food. Then they also had raffles and 50/50. The point is(I think) to get money for the groom and to help pay for the bachelor party. The tickets cover food and beverage, and sometimes also to purchase prizes for raffles (like bottles of alcohol) and then whatever is leftover is given to the groom for honeymoon, or whatever. In my area, people often buy tickets to support friends (aka - make a "donation") and then never go to the actual party. Not even microwbrews which we have a TON in our area! There were raffles you had to pay for. I think the other thing that was really weird is all the guests had to drink draft beer but the groom and wedding party were drinking hard liquor. </p> <p>Today I just saw a FB event for a bachelor party of another coworker. Must be a regional thing...? </p>
