Don't know how common those are. It's $250 for 10 weeks. There are less expensive options but the more expensive ones are really well run in my opinion. LO loves it! When LO started talking, the first thing he would do every morning was point to the ipod and say "aardvark." It was especially good as an indoor activity during the winter. I desperately want to try them but they are either A. only offered during the week and/or B. too far away. We live 40 minutes into the 'burbs so those types of things are typically in the cities, and nearly an hour drive.<br /> I just know J would love it. I know my nanny girl did one that was like what you described, with the music and book to take home and she got a lot out of it. It was about $24 a class but I found that there was a huge difference in quality between that and the $5 drop-ins around town (we still did those occasionally too but just a very different scene). It took her a little while to warm up and participate in the classes but she did really well and I feel like she got a lot out of it. We took a break this summer and will take a break in the fall with the baby coming, but we will reconsider this winter (although I think she wants to try ballet now). We are starting music lessons in two weeks (LO is 18 months) and if anything, it's an opportunity for them (and you!) to be around other kids and parents. Totally worth it! I'm thinking about enrolling him in their weekly classes, but you have to pay by the semester. </p> <p>Would he/I really get enough out of it that it would be worth $210 for 11 weeks? It comes with a CD and an activity pack for things to work on at home, but still. </p>
