@runsyellowlites: I can't believe I missed that thread before! :). I got pretty crispy

@Navy_Mommy: I'm more crunchy than I thought I would be before baby! We EBF and she refuses a bottle if I'm even anywhere near her. I do baby-wear at least once a day, if just so I can get some stuff done with my hands free. I'm all for all-natural cleaning and laundry products. Everything on her bed (mattress, pad, topper, some sheets) are organic. I plan to make my own baby food. I've let her co-sleep with us as needed. Thought about CD and have a small stash, but find disposables just more economical and convenient for us. I would never do cloth diaper wipes. We vaccinate but will separate them and possibly delay some. So I think I'm middle of the road crunchy?

Gluten-free, vegetarian over here ... I plan on home birthing, breastfeeding, semi co-sleeping, and baby wearing. I think I'm pretty 'crunchy', but really I'm just following my gut as to what will be best for our baby/family. Go granola mamas!!

We're also middle ground. I wish I had more time to do all of the things I want to do, but it's just not possible with my work schedule at the moment. It's not limited to just care of my son, but the way we live our lives.

@googly-eyes: I don't say, "I'm going to do this because I want to be a crunchy mom" I just follow my instincts and do what works best for our family. It just so happens what works best for our family tends to be pretty crunchy.

Oh yeah. I'm a doula, had a med-free birth (planned birth center birth with midwives), breast feed (and will until at least age 2, maybe more), vegetarian/organic, baby wear, co-bed, alternative vaccine schedule, cloth diaper, homeschooling, no screen time for kids, attachment parenting, no CIO, plan on BLW, etc.

Nope, not at all.

Epidural birth
Regular diapers (eta, disposables. regular was just the first word that came to mind since they tend to be more common right now)
Didn't CIO at least not so far (but it's not only crunchy moms who don't)
Made some purees but not all
Formula feed although originally planned to breast feed
Use ergo carrier and a sling (mostly ergo) but honestly I only think of the wrap carriers as being a little crunchy
Coslept (not cobed) for awhile and on a rough night here or there, but mostly lo is in her room because we all sleep better that way

I just do what works for me..I don't subscribe to a particular image of motherhood, and I'm open to doing things differently the next time around.

@yoursilverlining: I'm with you. We do things that are considered "crunchy" by some, but mostly because they work for our family - not because we are crunchy overall.

We cloth diaper, I plan on breastfeeding until at least a year and probably beyond, we baby wear, do BLW, I had a nearly medication free birth, I see a midwife, and we co-sleep for most of the night.

BUT, we also use a disposable overnight, occasionally use a stroller, put our son in his crib for the first part of the night, have him eat store-bought purees at daycare, and use technology (TV, iPad, etc) around our son.

We're middle ground.

I consider us crunchy-ish. We co-slept with both kids, no CIO, practice EC, babywear, made our own puress with one kid and did BLW with the other, gentle parenting techniques, started growing our own organic food, etc...

On the other hand both of my kids were formula fed pretty much exclusively, we do use (limited) technology, and we vaccinate and utilize Western medicine. I'm used to really crunchy people (think living on a commune in the forest without running water/electricity) so I really don't think we compare to that level, lol.

I'm still pregnant, but I don't think I will be very crunchy at all.

I will breastfeed, but do not plan on doing it past a year, and my goal is only 6 months. I will only babywear when it is convenient. LO will sleep in the Rock N Play in our room for the first few months just to reduce the risk of SIDS. I will not be attachment parenting. I will vaccinate. I will send my child to public school. I cannot afford to eat purely organic. I will use disposable diapers. I will have a medicated, hospital birth with an OBGYN. I am also kind of grossed out by the mama cloth!

So, yeah, not very crunchy!

I live in Vermont, and most of our choices are the norm, not to mention what we were raised with. We co-bed, cloth diaper, breastfeed, no screen time, all local/organic foods, baby wearing, attachment parenting, etc.
we do vaccinate, and I did have meds during labor. Our kids will go to public school.

No I don't think so. I breastfeed, LO shared a room with us for the first few months, we try and buy organic/free range items when possible but the budget doesn't always allow it...other than that though, not too many crunchy tendencies.

I don't think I am. I am however a little more baby led than I thought I'd be. I don't baby wear because my son hates it. As for sleeping I let him set his own schedule I let him nap when he wants and go to sleep when he wants. We use 7 th generation diapers. We will be making his baby food. and I did just buy him his first set of blocks that are made in USA and made from recycled plastic. Oh and I drive a Subaru lol.

Extended breastfeeding, natural birth, baby wearing, cloth diapers, mama cloth and menstural cup, cosleeping, no sleep training/CIO, gental discipline, try to eat organic, etc.

@Espion: Yup, I work a lot. At the time I was full time clinical and had a grant... so pretty busy. Plus we do overnights 1-2 times per month most months. I was lucky that I had great supply though. So each time I pumped I got 9-12 oz, which made it much easier :)

Not really, but the crunchy quiz said that I am haha. I personally think I'm probably 40% crunchy, 60% not.

I have an OBGYN, had two medicated births, I don't cloth diaper, I fed purée's for a few months, vaccinate, did CIO.

I also baby wear a lot, once both kids wake up in the middle of the night, my bed is their bed and it's a nightly routine. I breastfeed and they did/will self wean. Hmm what else...we eat organic, use a lot of natural cleaners (white vinegar and baking soda).

96, not surprising. I did BLW but we also did purees. We cosleep and bed share on her floorbed, some of the time. I nurse her (20 months) frequently. Use cloth diapers during the day. Stopped babywearing at 7 months due to a back injury. I would use mama cloth and a diva cup if I found those things to be comfortable.

I do "crunchy" things (co-sleep/co-bed, BLW, babywear, eat locally sourced food, have a (small) garden); but I don't consider myself crunchy. I just do those things because they work for us, and we eat local/organic food (especially meat and eggs) because simply they taste better.

I would never, ever homeschool (and don't even get me started on "unschooling"), I would never consider a homebirth, I will always vaccinate and I had an elective c-section; so I know I would never really be considered "crunchy" which I'm totally fine with.

Oh, and you can pry my TV/iphone/ipad/laptop from my cold, dead hands!! LOL!

I think I'll be partly-crunchy. We're a fairly TV-free, "things for the sake of things"-free family. I can't dedicated CD until we move and get settled, but I will try to BF as long as possible (job permitting) and likely make our own baby food (w/o the high fructose corn syrup, crazy preservatives, etc.)

@Mrs. Jacks: Not to be off topic, but are you full time clinically active? How did you manage to BF for 2 years? I may have to lay myself down at your feet, lol!

@Navy_Mommy: Nice!

I guess I should add "why" I consider myself crunchy.
I....
-see a MW, not obgyn
-we use natural remedies & rarely see the MD for sickness
-plan homebirths
-have unmedicated births
-we don't vaccinate
-we homeschool
-cloth diaper (now fitteds which for some reason I find more crunchy than pockets or aio... idk why)
-breastfeed & delay solids
-hope to tandem breastfeed (I would totally nurse someone else's baby if needed)
-believe in self`weaing
-do blw
-babywear (although I am needing a new carrier so we've been using the stroller more recently)
-co-sleep & co-bed (we have a sidecar setup still at almost 14 months
-don't sleep train
-am considering momma cloth & the diva cup
-don't do hormonal bc
-try to eat organic/free range (although that's been harder since P can eat regular food again...... the horrible things I missed dearly)
-will be growing a garden come this next planting season
-use natural cleaning products (no scentsy, febreeze, bleach here)

I think the only way I could be "more" crunchy is to become liberal... which I'm not. lol
ETA: We are very tech & media friendly too since that's where DH serves so I don't think we'd ever cut our iphones, laptops, or much screen time (although we don't have cable, just netflix & hulu)

I'm super crunch. We co-bedded with #1 (#2 didn't like it), cloth diapered, made our own baby food and did BLW, breastfed for 2 years with #1 and was able to provide breast milk for 6 months for #2, we don't have a TV, no iPads, no aps, baby wear (even still with our 3 year old at times), Montessori, organic food, organic products.

The only place we differ with the most crunch is that we heartily believe in medicine including epidurals and vaccinations!

I would say that I'm fairly crunchy. Where I come from (Mississippi), I would probably be labeled extremely crunchy. I had an unmedicated l&d, we cloth diaper, only buy organic dairy, eggs, and produce. We don't co-bed except for a few hours in the morning, but we do room share. We don't own a stroller and prefer to baby-wear on the go. I typically only buy organic cotton clothing for LO, but we have several things that aren't and I don't have a problem putting him in those pieces, either. Only use organic toiletries for both LO and me. Only clean with vinegar and baking soda. As I type this, I sound much more crunchy than I previously thought!

I'm still pregnant but I have a fairly good idea that I will be the least crunchy mum ever. On a scale of crunchiness, if granola is crunchy, I'm greek yoghurt! I will use disposable nappies, would never dream of co-sleeping (due to the risk of SIDs), intend to use Johnson and Johnson's bath products and have bought regular toys from regular shops. It's no secret on here that I don't want to breastfeed (although I'm going to give it a good go) but I have no intention of breastfeeding past 6 months (if I can pump successfully, I may still offer breastmilk for a while longer, we will see) and I will probably use shop bought purees along with little pieces of home cooked food. I will do whatever it takes to get my baby to sleep and if that means CIO, I'm not opposed to that.

Totally not crunchy!

Still pregnant, but moderately crunchy. Using a birth center, and hope to be intervention free. Plan to breastfeed for at least one year, and will make my own baby food, unless we skip purees all together. We will use a co-sleeper for the first 6 months, and will baby wear.

We eat mostly organic/free range already, and try to use all-natural cleaning products whenever possible. Have sought out only wooden or organic fabric toys, and will not introduce children's television/iPad/smart phone for as long as possible.

@regberadaisy: crunchy is in the eye of the beholder, lol. Some people think I'm the crunchiest mom ever (mainly cuz of the breastfeeding and babywearing) other people would say I'm barely crunchy at all.. .
