I haven't had to fly anywhere since having kids. But I fill the back of the SUV to go to my parents so....yeah it's a scary thought.

We are super light packers. One duffel for me and Mr. and one duffel for babies, plus diaper bag and computer bag. We could do it all without checking luggage, but we usually check one bag.

I tend to be a light packer. We went to DisneyWorld last year for 7 days and I packed myself, DD (18m at the time) and my hubby in one large/expandable duffel bag. We got a carseat with our rental car so we didn't have to pack/haul that and stopped at a grocery to pick-up diapers and wipes (only packed enough to get us there plus a few extra) and milk/snacks.

So far, I've managed to always pack myself and DD in the same medium duffel for weekend trips.

I'm not a light packer in general so I end up bringing a lot of stuff for the kids as well. I'm pretty good about packing the main suitcase for the kids (they do get their own though). It's all the stuff I'm bringing with me on the plane to keep them occupied that's a pain.

I am a terrible packer! I used to be really organized about it, but now, I could fill 2 suitcases for my son and still find myself missing things. This is largely because I am a creature of habit so I like to have my stuff when I travel. I try to make my son as comfortable as possible, so that means I bring a lot of stuff from home. We also travel to places that are remote and don't have lots of stores...that's my excuse, lol. In the US, there's always a Target, Walmart or 24 hour CVS around the corner.

We're going to Florida this weekend!! I just started to pack and DD's stuff is seriously going to fill one entire suitcase. I think I am just bringing the bare essentials but apparently she has a lot of bare essentials. I am not even going to bother scaling back. This is her first real trip and I just want her to feel comfortable and have her familiar things. Luckily, she doesn't care about toys so I am not bringing any. We are also not bringing a car seat or stroller.

Do you bring a lot on your trips or are you a light traveler with children?
