I try to have my act together, for example in the security line. It is such a pet peeve of mine when people don't! For example, last time I flew; in the security line a few ppl ahead of me there was this lady. (Childless, older lady.) She pulls this huge bottle of water out and is like, "Can I take this with me??" Meanwhile, I had my shoes off, was holding all of my electronics and plastic bag full of whatever, ready to put it all in the bin. In my head I was like, "REALLY lady?!? I fly several times a year, and I have flown internationally as well. I'm not afraid to fly (I actually really enjoy it) and I am very comfortable with the whole process. I have never flown with a baby before, but I imagine once I get the logistics down, I would be just as comfortable. But we got good at taking off the beaten path trips, taking camping gear, couch surfing, hostels, bicycles for transport. I'm less likely to do that stuff with a LO but traveling that way I think taught us a lot more about traveling than the on the beaten path trips we've taken. Traveling with LO wasn't too bad though, partially because I heard so many horror stories I was preparing for the worst.
