The other problem I can't get out of my head...my MIL brought in a cactus once (it has since died and been disposed of) but apparently tarantulas nest in them. I can spot them in complete darkness. I also sat in my room crying for 4 hours once when I saw one on the ceiling, no one was home and DH (then boyfriend) refused to come over to kill it.
