My FIL has tried implementing a dress code for the office plenty of times, but we all rebel at some point. I visit other construction offices regularly, and most are really casual around here, so I don't feel bad. I like dressing up, but after multiple trips to the mechanics' shop or jobsites in heels, it just isn't worth it. And no denim, either. Only on special "Denim Days" where you pay $5 to buy a pin or sticker to wear it (the money goes to a charity or cause). I work in a hospital where they're going to "scrub uniforms" for all the clinical staff, ie, RNs in navy, PTs in light blue, LPNs in purple, etc. We really want them to roll out that social workers get a scrub uniform, too - it would make our lives so much easier! For now, though, it's strictly business casual.
